Janome 2212, SINGER 4423 and Brother XR3774 are mechanical models. They may suit a different purchase, but they do not fulfill a requirement for computerized stitch selection. A vintage Kenmore model number without its exact documentation is not a substitute for verified electronic functions.

Decide what the upgrade should do

If the problem is sewing too quickly, the speed control has a defined job. If it is repeated thread trimming, the 9960’s cutter is a meaningful distinction.
