For a door-mounted panel of light sewing supplies, compare Honey-Can-Do SFT-09269 when you need many small compartments, SFT-08648 for mixed pocket sizes, or SONGMICS URDH007 for five larger pockets. Store loose needles in closed packets and buttons in small bags or boxes before putting them into an open pocket.

This is manufacturer-specification research, not a load, door-fit or durability test. A shoe-organizer capacity is not a verified sewing-tool weight rating. Sewing supplies vary enough that pocket measurements matter more than a blanket best brand ranking.

Compare the layout and real dimensions

Model Documented layout Manufacturer dimensions Useful sewing role
Honey-Can-Do SFT-09269 24 pockets, three hooks Panel 19 in wide and 64 in high; compartment 4.33 in wide, 1.1 in deep and 8.26 in high Small packaged notions and narrow pouches
Honey-Can-Do SFT-08648 10 pockets in mixed sizes Overall 20 in wide, 6 in deep and 78–82 in high Mixed small project pouches, subject to the long panel fitting
SONGMICS URDH007 Five large pockets Exact dimensions and door limits must be checked in the current model instructions Larger grouped supplies instead of a dense grid

The first panel is the most precisely documented small-compartment option in this comparison. A 5-inch-wide package will not fit its stated 4.33-inch width without bending. Do not buy it for large paper patterns or a cutting ruler merely because 24 pockets sounds roomy.

Check the door and the loaded depth

Measure the door width, available height above the handle and floor, thickness where the hooks sit, and clearance around the frame. The panel’s flat depth is not the depth after filling it. Open the door fully and check the wall or furniture behind it as well as closure at the top.

SFT-08648’s documented height of 78–82 inches makes the available drop a decisive measurement. It may be too long for a particular door or collide with items below it. Pocket count cannot answer that question. Do not force the door closed over hooks that do not fit.

Make a pocket plan first

For the 24-pocket panel, allocate packets of hand needles, machine needles, small zipper bags of buttons, clips and thread cards to separate compartments. Keep a written map or labels so similar packets are easy to return. This is a proposed sewing use, not a manufacturer-tested sorting system.

For mixed or larger pockets, group a repair pouch, elastic, bias binding and other light supplies by task. Check the thickest pouch against the actual pocket. A heavy iron, rotary cutter with an exposed blade or loose scissors is unsuitable for an open fabric-pocket routine. Use protected tool storage elsewhere.

Clear fronts and larger pockets have different trade-offs

Visibility can help locate a shade, but it does not prevent tiny items from mixing. Small inner bags provide the separation that a shoe pocket cannot. Larger pockets accept bulkier pouches but provide fewer individual homes. Choose the layout for your actual kit rather than assuming six pockets is inherently easiest or 24 always sorts better.

Keep heavy and infrequently used supplies in a drawer or supported shelf. If the door clearance is marginal, use another storage location rather than selecting a panel on pocket count alone.

Recommendation and sources

Choose SFT-09269 for supplies that fit its documented narrow pockets. Choose SFT-08648 when its mixed layout and unusually long drop suit the door. Consider URDH007 for larger grouped supplies only after establishing its current dimensions. Amazon cards search these exact models, without promising availability.
